SARK Time!

I have enjoyed SARK's books for quite sometime now - Recently, I started filling this playbook out with long awaited answers - It seems when you are in create mode, the answers just flow ... I highly recommend this book, fun to put your answers down on paper - Somehow they become more real ... Do you have a favorite creative book that you would like to share?

  2. I'm not familiar with this book. And now you made me think - do I have a favorite creative book? I don't think so. Maybe that's because I still haven't bought them, although I have two or three in mind. :)

  3. Oh, Sonja - SARK (this is her author name) has MANY books - This is only one of many - They really make you think - Who were you when you were a child? Creative? What did you like to do? Etc ... Perhaps this could be a Christmas Gift from me to you ... What book have you been dying for?

  4. There are so many books I would love to read! But the first one would be Alisa Burke's "Sew wild". I will buy it, definitely. I just love everything she creates. And you are too kind K, but the book for Christmas would be too much! And speaking of Christmas, remember our ornament swap? :) It's too early to talk about that, I know, but I just remembered. :)

  5. Yes - I realize that there are things you just cannot access where you live - Does Amazon deliver to Serbia? - Yes - The Ornament Swap is still on - I have to start thinking about what I want to do for you ... Never to early to brainstorm, Right?

  6. Thanks, Sherry - I knew she would be a favorite amongst many - She inspires me to look within, to find that "creative" spark that may have gone dim for awhile ...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...
