Burst of Color Saturday ...

This has been a week of creativity for me ... Every evening I have been trying to "Write" ... (Trying to "own" my title of "Writer" from my recent Writing Workshop) ... I would either start and/or finish a poem ... Write a short essay (and then go back later and re-write it) or simply write for the sake of writing. I am grateful for this year being one of creativity. This was a goal for me in 2011, and I have worked hard to make it happen. I am using my writing and photography to show who I truly am. I could play the "Coulda Woulda Shoulda" game, but I just wish I would have started earlier, but it is never to late to hone into a craft that you love. How are you leaving an imprint of who you truly are?

Dance in the Rain ...

It is a rainy Thursday here in New England. As I write this I can hear the cars going by, and splashing in the puddles. When I was younger, I did not like the rain. Somehow, Rainy days are refreshing to me as I get older. I think of it as a break from extremely warm days. Sort of like a cleansing for a better to come. I have kept this photo for quite sometime, for the perfect post. I chose to use it today. Do you find yourself saving something for the right moment? Like using only the good china and flatware for the holidays? Or saving a new candle when company is coming over? Or holding onto a bottle of champagne for a special celebration? I would love to hear your thoughts ...

Meet Brooke Wilson ...

Meet Brooke Wilson ... The first time I saw Brooke's work I truly fell in love with the whimsy and magical feel that is attached to every piece she creates. I was hoping she would agree that the above "fairy on her mushroom" was a perfect fit for Whimsical Wednesday here at Living in the Moment - I am grateful she was in agreement! She is the creator of Run Away Violet Art & Design. Please check out her beautiful artwork. Many of her pieces include mermaids, beautiful portraiture, inspirational quotes etc ... I am sure memories of your childhood will emerge while viewing her site. Many thanks to Brooke for bringing such a creative piece to my blog (and into my creative world!).

This is Your Life ...

When I came across this LIFE Poster - I thought it would go along wonderfully with how I have been feeling. Life is not a dress rehearsal. Life is happening right now. We need to live it, breathe it and take it all in. I do feel, at this age, that I am doing this. I feel comfortable in my own skin. Are you living, breathing and taking in your life? Or are you just going through the motions?

Rod ... Rod Stewart

It is Music Monday here at my blog (Once Again!) ... I wanted to mention Rod Stewart today because I heard a few of his older songs on the radio this past weekend. I am sure many of you will have comments about this post - good, bad or indifferent. Rod has always been a favorite of mine. I have attended many of his concerts over the years, knowing all the songs, and dancing in the aisles. I have fond memories of listening to his music while growing up. I still enjoy his music today. I love the avenue he has gone down with his GREAT AMERICAN SONGBOOK Collection ... Including all the old songs my heart sings to ... Who's music makes your heart sing? Or do you have a favorite singer from growing up that brings back good memories for you?

Writer By Day (And Night!) ...

Seeing my "Theme" this weekend is Writing - I thought this was a perfect way to end the week - In our workshop this weekend, our Speakers - (Patti Digh, Jennifer Louden & Susan Piver - Please see my previous post for more info on this) wanted us "to own" the title of "Writer".  I awoke this morning refreshed and renewed. I needed a jump start on enjoying the craft of writing. This workshop provided me with this and so much more. I am hoping for a renewed faith in my work this week - When was the last time you felt refreshed?
