April Love ... Day One

Today I joined in on Susannah Conway's April Love 2016 - A Month of Love Letters. I thought I would share Day One's Prompt ... Dear Love,  You have shown yourself to me in all different ways through my life. I knew you existed with the way you resided in my own family How we reacted to family members sufferings, as if they were our own. In my teens, I thought I knew you with my first love. Later, I realized I was too young to know your true meaning. Later still, I found you being Single meeting new people and then I lost sight of you once again. Over the course of the next few years I would find you to bloom, to hurt and to transform me. Changing me into a stronger more independent woman. Embracing me in my times of need. Cheering for my triumphs. Through it all you showed me comfort. Even now, I find you tapping me on the shoulder – Reminding me to take care of myself. I have always followed my heart, then my head. You have reminded me to take pause and think matters thr...

Breathe It All In ... Love

Original Photography by Kristine  I never thought of myself as a journaler, but as time goes on I think I may fit into that category.  I have always had some type of a journal or diary. I started with a light blue child-like diary with a key in grade school. I then moved on to composition books, and then to typing journal entries in my teens and placing them in a three ring binder. (All of which I still have!).  In the past few years I have been journaling in a different way. Most memories - Such as photos, napkins, coasters and ticket stubs make their way into a leather bound moleskin that I purchased as a planner that I turned into a journal. Recently, I have been working between this journal, a travelers notebook and an A5 size leather journal that houses each milestone. Each memory. Each moment.  I recently purchased (as a gift from my folks for my birthday) my first Erin Condren Notebook which I have been adding titles to pages to keep all my thoughts...

A New Year's Letter ...

Original Self Portrait by Kristine / Diana App A New Year's Letter ... A New Year has always been a way of starting fresh ... Leaving the previous year behind ... The highest of highs, the lowest of lows, and everything in between ... There were many moments of uncertainty and fear last year for our family and then came the ultimate joys that we were so grateful for! Spending New Years Day with my family confirmed we made it through the storm. Each New Year I try to set a few intentions. I do not like to look at them as resolutions. Ideas that I will look forward to. Perhaps trying something new or as simple as visiting a new destination. These excursions usually bring photography and writing possibilities along with them. I tend to think of enjoyment attached to learning so anything else that unfolds is just a true bonus!  A New Year - 12 Full Months - Being Served Up - For Us To Choose How To Fill Our Days ... How will you spend them? I would love to hear ......

Breakthrough ...

BREAKTHROUGH Looking into a glared mirror Brown eyes viewing many smile lines  That remind me of the stories they hold  And the miles my feet have taken me  Moments come and go in my mind  Tears rolling down my pink cheeks  Realizing I have such a long way to go  Striving for the best version of myself  These moments live within me  Some snapshots have been silenced  In a busy world that never goes quiet Times that will never be erased  I have visited calming spaces  Walked stone covered beaches  Sang songs as loud as I could  To find a way to breakthrough  My colored lips remain closed  To keep all of my words in Becoming a gatekeeper of my world Until I can view the light easier Finding calm in the everyday  Rain that cleanses all Blue skies that bring us hope  A new season bringing us into a new year
