Flip Flop Chatter

I am sure you are wondering what this photo is all about - I just thought I would share another photo that I submitted for my online photography course today - It was entitled "Flip Flop" we had a choice of things to do, but I thought I would photograph my flowerly flip flops in different light ... Waiting to hear what my Instructor has to say ... Do you have a favorite pair of flip flops? Sandals?

  1. What a fun thing to do! I can see that course is making you try new ways and unusual objects to photograph. Great! I do have a pair of violet sandals, (or are they called shoes?) :) But it's a very high heel so I wear them only when I want to look very pretty :))) Love your flip flops! :)

  2. Thanks, Sonja ~ This course is making me think "Outside the Box" as they say ~ Try anything, Shoot, Shoot, Shoot ~ This is the advice I have gotten all along ~ Just a fun way to enjoy my favorite passion ~ I would love to see a pic of your shoes, they sound lovely ~ This was a fun pair of flip flops that I thought would be fun to photograph!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
