Summer Reflection ...

I was going through the pictures I have taken over the Summer - I came across this photo I took at the beach - Perhaps it is my love of animals, perhaps it was when I turned the photo into an old fashioned feel, maybe it was just the moment I caught - But I really like this one - I took more photos than I originally thought, so I am sure I will post a few more before Summers End ... Is there a photo you just savor, for special reasons? or just because?

  1. Amazing photo! It looks great this way! I just love it!
I have a few photos I like to come back to from time to time, taken by my husband. He photographed some flowers and leaves, and they have a very calming feel. I even framed some of them and hanged them in my bedroom.

  2. Thank you SO much, Sonja ... I was going for a "washed out" look on this one ... I realize the subject of every photo should be in focus, but I wanted it to look this way ... Happy to know that you have special photos from your husband that calm you ... Photos are special for many reasons ... This is one of them!

  3. I didn't know the subject should be in focus...I have a lot to learn...But I like how this dog seems to be "running into picture", for me it gives life and movement to the photo. Well, that's how I see it. :)

  4. Well, "The Unsaid Rule" in Photography is that your Subject should be "clear" - But sometimes you can bend the rules - Like I did, here - That is when I have the most fun!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated
