Tuesday Sparkle - My Word for the Year

Thinking back of a conversation that Jeanette House posed a few days back ~ I spent some quality time  choosing a word ~  My word for 2012 is "CREATE".

I hope to really push my limits this year in the creative department. I hope to expand my writing (collaborating with more artists), broaden my photography with more thought provoking photographs etc.

If you look at the New Year ahead, what is "Your Word"?

Comments

  3. What a great exercise! Since I have such high hopes for 2012, I had great difficulty choosing just one word. A couple words I considered were:

VOCATION -- having a career to which I am called, earning a living doing something about which I am passionate

SELF-ESTEEM -- having a reasonable, favorable view of myself

But,my word for 2012 is going to be SOCIALIZE. I am tired of feeling lonely and isolated here in VT. I need to make a better effort to seek and enjoy the companionship of others, to find others who share my interests and to learn from others who have different interests.

Here's to lots of friendship in 2012!

  4. Sandy - You truly know how to make a Girl's Day - So glad you joined in - Let's make Western MA a reasonable meeting place - More often than just a few times a year, What do you say? I am sending wishes of vocation & self-esteem in the upcoming year - I feel it is going to be a good one for both of us!

  5. I like your word K! I don't know what my word will be. The 2011 was definitely a year of exploration for me, a year of learning, sharing and friendship. I am so grateful for everything, and I would love to continue that way.

  6. My word for 2012 is PLAY. As in remember to play more often, knowing that play is every bit as important as work. I did a blog post about it if you want to read. http://bluetwigstudio.wordpress.com/

  7. Sonja - No need for only one word - I wanted to "Simplify" what I wanted for this upcoming year, hence the word "CREATE". Please continue doing what you have been doing, but I love everything you make ... and let's this wonderful friendship going!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated
