Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place.

I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done.

My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists).

Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated that I did.

The note was written in someone else's handwriting ...

LOVE IS BOLD, LOVE IS BRAZEN
FIND LOVE
HAVE LOVE
BE IN LOVE

Finding this note, was like finding buried treasure for me. I left Muddy Waters that day, feeling that the universe was speaking to me ... in a special way.

What have you come across lately that has made you feel this way?

  1. OMG Kristine! This is EXACTLY what I wanted to read today. I've been encouraging people to do this sort of thing, leave Random Acts of Art (which can be anything encouraging) for people to find in public places. We're doing a blog hop on Wednesdays where people post photos of what they made and where they left it. Last week we had people participating from Norway to New Zealand. Come over to my blog and see some of the photos. And join us next Wednesday. xo Susan http://www.oolalatheartylife.com/3720/random-acts-of-art-wednesday/

  2. Aww Kristine ... this is an incredible story which filled me with so many emotions! I've often wondered what it would be like to leave random notes with words of kindness on the memorial benches at the botanic garden where I work. There are 148 benches...this has inspired me to stop wondering and start doing it...love it! Susan....I'm going over to peak at your Blog!
