Cross an Ocean Thursday ...

I loved the script writing ... The black chalkboard ...

The white scrolls on a dark background ...

Whatever the reason, I wanted to share this quote for this weeks post ...

"YOU CAN NEVER
CROSS THE OCEAN
UNLESS YOU HAVE
THE COURAGE
TO LOSE SIGHT OF
THE SHORE"

~Christopher Columbus

Perhaps it is the result of finishing up a five week poetry course, but I am in love with words.

I have always been a fan of literature, but as of late I cannot digest enough. I want to purchase every poetry book I see. I want to read every poem,  and  use every free moment researching all of the poets that I have been missing out on ... In short, I want a day to just ...Read.

Now, it's your turn - What has moved you in this way, lately?

I am all ears ... Looking forward to hearing from you!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
