Dreamers Lane

How fun would it be to say you live on Dreamers Lane? (see photo above).

Would you consider yourself a "Dreamer"? I find myself thinking of  having a "get-away" place - To Write, To Photograph,  To Enjoy a Nice View ...Of having a home in the woods, at the ocean, on a lake ... So, I guess I am a dreamer ... LOL

In reality, I would be happy with a 1 Bedroom Studio Apartment near the mountains, oceanside or lakeside ... I could get a bicycle to get around town ... In hopes it had a small deck or perhaps a patio to read and cook outdoors ... To share with family & friends ... Ok, I will leave "Dreamland"now ...

Perhaps I can work towards that ... As a more reasonable way to achieve this goal.

What do you daydream about?

  2. My dream is to have a house in the mountains with a lot of animals. I would go searching for mushrooms and herbs, make lunch in my wood burning oven, weave rugs and blankets, and read books by the fire with my hubby. :)

    1. Hi Sonja - I am right there with you - I also have a love for animals, so that would be a given for me, as well - I am sure you would settle into that life, very easily!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
