Letters Across the Miles ...

Dear Jennifer,
Your post could not have come at a better time - We are headed to Maine shortly - We do enjoy our "Kick Off To Summer" get-away - I am doing research to find yet "another" hidden jewel amongst the many treasures there. More to come!

Thank you for your kind words regarding my office view.  I believe we both have a great appreciation for "Views" - Anywhere, Really. If it is at the ocean, woods or in the city.  I feel I found my way into the city for a reason, only time will tell. I believe my answer will be present in the upcoming months.

I have to admit, I have "Bike Envy" when you mention your rides - I hope to get a bike soon so I will be able to explore a bit more, as you do. Walking is fine, but I need something new. I feel I could take it for errands, down to the pond to visit the ducks, to the center to take in a chapter of a great book etc ... So many possibilities ... For those few free moments we are given ...

I love your attention to self care - Reading inspiring words to get your day started, How Comforting! I love this idea ... You asked how I nourish my soul? I love relaxing my Hubby, Visiting my family & friends, Photographing anything I love, Writing poetry, Reading other people's blogs (like yours), Reading a few chapters in a good book, Walking outside to see how my flower garden is coming along, Watching a good movie, Thumbing through a creative book to give me some inspiration etc ... So many ways to fill my soul ...

I found this quote above online and wanted to add it to this letter - Knowing you could appreciate it - Enjoy!

Sending a friendly hug your way,
Kristine ox

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
