Living in the Moment - Inner Voices

I am currently taking Susannah Conway's JOURNAL YOUR LIFE and LOVING IT!  Each week we have been working through different ways to journal ...

Sure, There is writing, getting our thoughts down on paper and out of our head but we have gone a bit deeper in this class. We have acknowledged childhood memories, self awareness, nightmares, daydreams etc ... This is the second course from Susannah that I have taken, and it will not be my last ...

This brings me to the reason I attached the above picture from PinTerest, it really spoke to me. Why are we afraid of speaking our truth? Fearing what others will say? What others will think? I used to feel this way, I no longer do. I am glad I have arrived here. In a safe place.

I have a routine of writing each day - Whether it is a journal entry, a blog post, write poetry or just getting some outlines down on paper - to use in the near future ... It frees me of my day, it feels as natural as breathing now ... What makes you feel this way?

  2. I have a lot of things that makes me feel that way. Art Journaling is one of them, but also crocheting, weaving, making beads etc. Anything crafty is a great thing for me. :)

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
