  1. Fun list! And belated birthday wishes - although I encourage you to adopt my practice of celebrating for an entire month. One day simply isn't enough! :-) And let me add another number to your list: #365 - the number of days in the year open for joy and happiness - grab them!

  3. Happy Belated! Love that you chose the getaway. Such wonderfully evocative photos. You'll laugh - we were promised our first snowfall in a month and a half today however it is simply pouring with rain instead. I took such comfort from your pics. Thank you. Also thought your numbers post was so clever and I love Deborah's comment about the importance of 365!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
