A PANERA OUTING 

After work last week, I decided to visit Panera Bread. I truly could not remember the last time I did this, so I took this opportunity to make it an Artist's Date, of sorts  (Julia Cameron's (one of my favorite inspirational authors thought process  for  artists's outings that get you out into the world, doing what you love).  I brought along a book, a journal and my laptop. I had a fulfilling sandwich, delicious summer salad and a great tasting lemonade. This made it possible to wait out the traffic during rush hour and to avoid downpours that were coming through the area. 

I spent some of my time catching up on podcasts that I have been falling behind on. I also caught up on researching books that I would like to add to future reads. 

As I sat listening to my podcasts many tables around began to fill up. A young mother and her young son talking about his day at preschool. A woman that asked to share my wall outlet so she could also plug in her laptop. Two women in their thirties speaking Portuguese. Two ladies discussing some type of upcoming reunion with papers that covered their table. All in all it was interesting to me to take in all the different reasons we ended up in the same space at the same time. 

As I gathered my belongings, I noticed the sparrows that were gathered on the outside grounds. They were nibbling away at pieces of bread that outside guests had thrown to them to enjoy. They seemed happy and content in their environment. 

This evening made me realize I need more nights like this.

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. Nashville Travels ...

As I left Logan Airport in Boston, I felt that I was opening a new window in my life. One of freedom. One of self-independence. I found my seat and settled in. The flight flew by and I was in Nashville before I knew it. I gathered my bags and headed to the outside passenger pickup curb. I was greeted with open arms by a friend that could easily be a Sister of mine. Before too long, I began seeing Nashville and Memphis signs on the highway. This was truly happening. A jaunt that was planned so quickly, felt more surreal by the moment. A quick re-cap of the tourist sites we took in were visiting the Grand Ole Opry Backstage Tour, Antique Archeology (American Pickers Gift Shop), Broadway (Street of Lights) and shopping in Downtown Franklin.
