Things I Have Learned ...

Photography by Kristine

Things I have learned over the years …

Going back to basics brings clarity
Believe in yourself
At times, you need to stand alone
Stand up for those who do not have a voice
Water intake is so essential
Magnesium calms the body
Listening to your intuition never fails
Let things go, they just weigh you down
Reading is a wonderful way to end the day
Pay attention to what your body is telling you
Time is the best gift that can be given
Moderation is key
Photography captures the moments that may have been lost
Silence reveals the answers you are search of
Nature is the best medicine
Choose your battles wisely
Listen to the voices of experience
Be a note taker when learning new things
Never stop dreaming
Be grateful for the small things
Good people share their knowledge
Never take anyone for granted
Tomorrow will always be better
A good night sleep makes a world of difference
Try to have something to look forward to
It all comes down to choice
Be Kind!

What has the past years taught you?

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

Nashville Travels ...

As I left Logan Airport in Boston, I felt that I was opening a new window in my life. One of freedom. One of self-independence. I found my seat and settled in. The flight flew by and I was in Nashville before I knew it. I gathered my bags and headed to the outside passenger pickup curb. I was greeted with open arms by a friend that could easily be a Sister of mine. Before too long, I began seeing Nashville and Memphis signs on the highway. This was truly happening. A jaunt that was planned so quickly, felt more surreal by the moment. A quick re-cap of the tourist sites we took in were visiting the Grand Ole Opry Backstage Tour, Antique Archeology (American Pickers Gift Shop), Broadway (Street of Lights) and shopping in Downtown Franklin. The regular daily sites were just as fun - Meeting new friends, trying new food (and cream soda - Yum!), listening to live music, attended a going away party, shared in a friends brunch, and being serenaded by incredibly talented fiddlers, g...
