Rhoddy Realizations ...

Today is a bit more humid than the past few days, but beautiful just the same ~ The picture I chose for today is a Rhoddy from my front yard. I took this picture yesterday morning. I am loving any shade of purple these day. Funny how our tastes change over time. What is your favorite color? Has it changed over the years?

  1. One of my favorite photos! As you know Kristine, my favorite color is blue, but you are right, the taste changes, and I seem to love purple sometimes, then light green, and also burgundy - one of your favorites if I'm right?
Oh, i just LOVE this photo!

  2. Thank you so much, Sonja ~ Yes, I am mostly a dark color person - Navy blue, Burgundy, Royal Purple ... but every now and again a beautiful shade of green or coral catches my eye ... Thank you for your always lifting my spirits!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
