Floral Patterns ...

I have been looking through my craft inventory and I came across these floral tags - I just love the colors - I remember a time when you would never put florals with anything other than solids - I happen to love stripes with florals - Just adds a whole new dimension to a look you are trying to create ... What colors have you put together for a painting, mixed media project, scrapbook - That you would never have put together and magically transformed into something wonderful?

  3. Gorgeous tags, lovely pattern, lovely colors! I am forcing my self a bit to use brighter colors in my work, I don't know why I tend to use browns and black all the time :). I almost never use orange or red. Hmmm...I wonder why? :)

  4. I really loved these tags when I saw them, I could not pass them up - I do understand why you use browns and blacks because they "tie" colors together so well ... Orange and red could be a new avenue for you ... And with your patterns - They would be truly amazing!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

Nashville Travels ...

As I left Logan Airport in Boston, I felt that I was opening a new window in my life. One of freedom. One of self-independence. I found my seat and settled in. The flight flew by and I was in Nashville before I knew it. I gathered my bags and headed to the outside passenger pickup curb. I was greeted with open arms by a friend that could easily be a Sister of mine. Before too long, I began seeing Nashville and Memphis signs on the highway. This was truly happening. A jaunt that was planned so quickly, felt more surreal by the moment. A quick re-cap of the tourist sites we took in were visiting the Grand Ole Opry Backstage Tour, Antique Archeology (American Pickers Gift Shop), Broadway (Street of Lights) and shopping in Downtown Franklin. The regular daily sites were just as fun - Meeting new friends, trying new food (and cream soda - Yum!), listening to live music, attended a going away party, shared in a friends brunch, and being serenaded by incredibly talented fiddlers, g...
