Being Beautiful ... On the Inside

Lately, I have been doing research to see what REALLY speaks to me - Sayings, Quotes, Pictures Etc ... I loved this thinking bubble ... "WHAT YOU DO, THE WAY YOU THINK, MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL". These are the things that I think we need to hear, more of.

I hear positive and negative feelings towards getting older - I am glad to be in my early 40s - I am proud to say that I have lived a bit and realize the things that are important. I am pleased that I have held close the people who matter. I feel the unconditional love that you cannot put a price on.

I consider myself lucky for true friends and family. I am grateful for what I have, and where I am heading in my creative life.

Where are you headed?

  4. Thanks, Carlanda ~ We almost moved to Oregon back in 2009. My husband interviewed there, but it just never worked out. Oregon has been compared to living in Massachusetts - They have the same latitude, so they have 4 Seasons etc ... I am sure you will love it. Yes, I can relate to you when you say you want to spend more time doing the things you love ... I feel in many ways, I am just "Beginning", also ... So great hearing from you!

  6. I can really relate to this post! I am in my mid 40's now and just graduated college ! Whoo Hoo, so I feel even though I started many years ago on this creative journey it has been a very slow process and I was sidetracked and derailed so many times...but now I finally know what I want and have definite goals and plans. Something I never had before. I am happier than I have ever been with myself and my life :) thanks for your post!

  8. Thanks, Kristen ... Congrats on your new accomplishments ... I also feel I should have started on my journey earlier, but I cannot look back, only forward. I am trying things, making things, sketching, photography, writing - Things that make my heart sing - Glad we both found what makes us come alive! Great hearing from you!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

Nashville Travels ...

As I left Logan Airport in Boston, I felt that I was opening a new window in my life. One of freedom. One of self-independence. I found my seat and settled in. The flight flew by and I was in Nashville before I knew it. I gathered my bags and headed to the outside passenger pickup curb. I was greeted with open arms by a friend that could easily be a Sister of mine. Before too long, I began seeing Nashville and Memphis signs on the highway. This was truly happening. A jaunt that was planned so quickly, felt more surreal by the moment. A quick re-cap of the tourist sites we took in were visiting the Grand Ole Opry Backstage Tour, Antique Archeology (American Pickers Gift Shop), Broadway (Street of Lights) and shopping in Downtown Franklin. The regular daily sites were just as fun - Meeting new friends, trying new food (and cream soda - Yum!), listening to live music, attended a going away party, shared in a friends brunch, and being serenaded by incredibly talented fiddlers, g...
