Feelings of Autumn ...

This is how I am feeling this morning ~ Even though it is just a teaser for us, here in New England ~ The warm weather returns next week ~ This is a photo I took at a local farm stand a few years ago ~ It just brings me back to the cool crisp Autumn air ~ Leaves blowing everywhere ~ Dew on the morning grass ~ How I love this time of year ~ I look forward to all the leaves changing and the beautiful colors that come along with  it ~ I cannot wait to feel this again ~ It was a hot and humid Summer, so I welcome Fall with open arms! Autumn will always be my favorite season - Does anyone know of a place I can move to, where it is Fall like weather all year long?

  1. I do love Autumn, but if all the leaves could change the color and STAY on branches, it would be perfect! When I think of sad "naked" trees, rainy days, dark gray sky, well, I'm not sure I want the Fall. I dream of spring! But, you are right, the color of leaves and the cooler air are great. I'll think about that part, not the other, LOL.
I'm afraid there is no permanent Autumn anywhere on Earth, but that's why God invented books and gave us imagination! :) Well, that's how I usually fix the lack of things, hehe.

  2. Always such a joy to hear from you, Sonja - Yes, I agree - I do not particularly enjoy knowing Winter soon follows (even though I do love the Winter months, as well) - I enjoy Fall for the short time I can - Sonja, this is why we get along so well - We think the same - Books keep us thriving ... Would we really appreciate the Fall Season if we had it all the time? One needs to wonder ...

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
