Music Monday ... Day One

This is my first day presenting MUSIC MONDAY ... I thought it would be fun to talk about some music I like and have liked throughout the years ... I thought I would begin with Stevie Nicks and Fleetwood Mac. I have enjoyed their music for years, read autobiographies on the band, attended concerts etc ... I find myself gravitating towards their music when I need a feeling of "Home" ... I cannot pass up any of their songs on the radio, while driving in the car ... I have a few CDs in the car, in case I cannot find anything on the dials to my liking etc ... Love their sound ... Love the rhythms ... Love the voices ... I will be a forever fan ... What type of music speaks to you?

  1. I like Fleetwood Mac too! But my favorites would be Abba and Dianna Krall. I could go on and on, but let's pick these too now. :)

I have all of her cds. The there's Steely Dan, another top-of-the-list. My list is eclectic and long ! When I'm painting the music I choose definitely influences what 's happening on my canvas.

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
