So I am back after a month of writings for April Love (Susannah Conway's April Love). Thank you all for staying with me for these posts, I had been wanting to add a writing practice to my blog for awhile. Hoping you enjoyed it!

Something New! 

Each Spring I find myself making a list of places I would like to visit.
This year I gathered a few places right in my hometown of Boston, MA. 

My Spring 2016 List:

Swan Boats - Boston Public Gardens
The Boston Public Library
Museum of Fine Arts
Sam Adams Brewery
The Algiers for a Great Cup of Coffee 
Bull & Finch Pub (The Cheers Bar)
Brick and Mortar for a Delicious Meal

    Kristine, isn't it funny how we take for granted the treasures our hometown offers? I live an hour from NYC and yet never visited the Statue of Liberty until I was in my 50s! :) I smiled when looking over your list because I have been to many of the places you have not yet seen! You are so lucky to live in a city steeped in such history!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Picture Frame Friday ...

So, These are the benefits of having your own blog - Usually, On Fridays it is Poetry Friday but I wanted to change things up a bit. I thought I would write regarding a question I have been asked quite frequently these days. How do I decide the a photo is worth taking? Or how do I know that it will be a good shot? I came across this photograph (above) and thought this would be perfect to help me explain. Many times I have an imaginary frame in my mind of what I want my photo to look like. Off to the left a bit, off to the right, etc - I also tape the LCD display before I go out shooting. I learned this years ago, and it has really improved my work.  (It keeps me shooting - An average shoot on any given day is approximately 100 shots.)This way, I do not waste time checking photos. It forces you to save that work for when you return home. This way, you are not deleting pictures that may please you on the computer, but not in the camera. Hoping these tricks and tips help you,...
