This is my original photo above ~ This was taken on a walk through a State Park not too far from our home ~ I thought it was amazing that I was fortunate enough to find a heart in the ice ... I love finding surprises like this in nature ... It was originally in color, but somehow when I changed the photo to black and white - It told a better story! When was the last time you came across something, this unexpected? 

It is the beginning of a new week ~ I am wishing that Heart Monday will symbolize "Hope"... Hope for my family and friends that are struggling ~ Hope that my Dad continues to recover from his recent surgery ~ Hope that a New Year brings new opportunities for all the people that I love ... Hope for a happiness ... This photo above is of a "Heart" Card that is visible in my office ... I purchased it along with a few other "heart gifts"I had sent to a dear friend for her birthday. I loved the simple stitching, with white polka dots ... When was the last time you bought yourself something you liked?

Ever since I introduced "Heart Mondays" I have been thinking about how much the heart endures. The heart allows us to fall in love, it breaks, it soars, it mends, it beats to make us feel alive.    What song makes you feel whole?

This past week has been one of "Collaborations" with many different artists ... It has been such a thrill for me to discuss how we can/will work together, sharing ideas etc. I have found a connection with other creative people, I feel like I have found where I belong. This group of women came to mind when I came across this picture above ... I am hoping to display this work on my blog in the upcoming weeks ... Stay Tuned ...  What have you created lately? Painted? Drawn? Written?

I have been thinking of what I need in this New Year ... I need to break through the fear of not asking for what I want ... My word along with "CREATE" for 2012 is "TRY" ... I have noticed that I am on a natural high when I am collaborating with other artists. Everyone brings something different and unique to each of us. I have been connecting with Writers, Photographers, Painters, Weavers, Embroiderers, Etc. I love how art offers so many platforms! What gives you a natural high?
