I am feeling very inspired today ... This is a photo that I took of my office desk drawer ... I arranged these magnets in a way, so I see them each time I need something in my desk ... What do you do for inspiration?

  1. Inspiration for me comes from awesome artwork of others...Some I know are art masters with wonderful imagination~!! Oh, not to copy, but to feel like I could accomplish as well...When that urge to create pops in, then I am ready to try and answer the call...

  2. Margaret - I agree - When I see the work of others, I feel so inspired - I feel the same way, not to copy - Just to try my hand at what I see, to see what my interpretation would look like ... Keep Smiling & Creating!

  3. I agree with Margaret. I also find inspiration in nature. But sometimes it just comes to me with no reason, or leaves me just the same. :) I never know...

  4. Sonja - This is exactly what happens with me - Sometimes I awake with a thought in my head of what I want to photograph on that day, and then other days I am at a loss and then I am inspired by someone else's work ... Each day is different, Absolutely!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Picture Frame Friday ...

So, These are the benefits of having your own blog - Usually, On Fridays it is Poetry Friday but I wanted to change things up a bit. I came across this photograph (above) and thought this would be perfect to help me explain. Many times I have an imaginary frame in my mind of what I want my photo to look like. Off to the left a bit, off to the right, etc - I also tape the LCD display before I go out shooting. I learned this years ago, and it has really improved my work.  (It keeps me shooting - An average shoot on any given day is approximately 100 shots.)This way, I do not waste time checking photos. It forces you to save that work for when you return home. This way, you are not deleting pictures that may please you on the computer, but not in the camera. Hoping these tricks and tips help you,...
