My Big Surprise ...

This time of the year always reminds me of my Garden Bunny, a few Seasons ago. I was raking my garden when all of sudden I overturned something that rolled around and jumped away ... At first, I thought it was a frog, but then to my surprise, it was little beautiful baby bunny ... I grabbed my camera and took many pictures of him ... I often wonder where he fled to after leaving my yard ... What has been a "Great Surprise" to you?

  1. What a delightful surprise that must have been~!! He is a cutie...We have had several yard bunnies and loved our lop-eared the most, as they were black/grey/brown and blended in with the shadows...You must get Jo-jo's account of her yard bunny...

  2. Yes, Margaret - Nature presents itself to us in so many different ways - I think the timing is always perfect, as if it is telling us to slow down and realize the beauty around us ... I would love to see JoJo's yard bunny ... Thanks so much for reading my post and for your comments - They are really appreciated!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
