Self Reminder Sunday ...

I loved this simple quote because the first question that came to mind was, Why do we have to be reminded of this? Beautiful on the Inside - Beautiful on The Outside - Beauty is everywhere ... In ourselves, in our daily lives, when we see others doing good deeds for others, etc ... I often think to myself, Less is more. Simplicity is where it is at. Two Simple Words. Two words with such heart. Do you have a two word quote that speaks to you? Stay Strong? Be You? Something Simple.

  1. The two word quote : Be Honest

When I was a kid my mom always used to say, " You would never make a good spy because you show everything on your face. " A spy ?- I was still in grade school . Geesh !

Seriously, I do think it's important for me to tell the truth, otherwise I'm diminishing my own self-worth.

  5. I love the one you chose for this post K! We all have to be reminded of that sometimes. Another one I like is - "Just Be". Sometimes we should leave all our worries and our fears aside, all those negative thoughts, all that self judging, and Just Be! :)

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated...

All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
