Today has me thinking about "Friends" ~ I found this photo and just fell in love with it. This little girl has her doll and her dog and she has a smile on her face. How many "True Friends" do you have? We all know many people, but how many would you say you had that would take your call at midnight? Be there for you during the good times and the bad? Friends who understand you? Friends who know you? I am anxious to hear from all of you ...
I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual. Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?
It's a good question Kristine. Friends are a true blessing, the greatest gift. I have three or four people in my life who are true friends to me. And I am so grateful for having them in my life!
ReplyDeleteYes, We are given family, friends we can "choose" ... I have just about the same ... A small group that I know I can depend on ... and I am lucky to have them ... So lucky!
ReplyDeleteOh...I love that you used this photo of mine!! And yes, friends are everything! I learned when I had cancer and was going through treatment about friendship -- the people who I could really count on -- some surprised me, both for not being there and those who were there in spades. And better than having a good friend is being one ♥
