Music Monday ...

Welcome to Music Monday - Today I wanted to feature Sarah McLachlan - She has been a favorite of mine for many years now. I think it was the first time I heard "I Will Remember You" that I needed to research this artist. Soon afterwards, I was taken by "Angel", "Adia" and "Fallen". If I had to pick my favorite I think I would have to say "Building a Mystery" would have to be the one. The lyrics are so profound and meaningful. "Afterglow" still seems to be a favorite CD of mine, to this day. I am always amazed that I find myself going back to music from past years. What artist do you find yourself going back to?

  3. I actually go back to two artists : kd lang and Rihanna, which must seem odd when you think about how vastly different they are. Rihanna markets herself to be extremely provocative ( even violent at times ) , whereas kd lang is more spiritual and mellow, but with extreme emotions, like her song ' Crying ' with Roy Orbison, and then on her own after he passed away. I also love Adele !

  4. Hi Elizabeth - I have to say, you have good taste in music - They are both very talented artists. Rihanna is a bit tough for me, but kd lang is a real performer. Adele has been my favorite, especially this year, for some reason. Love her raw emotion and soulful voice ... Love chatting about music with good friends!

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated
