All about Hope ...

I thought this image was appropriate for how I am feeling today. I seemed to have gotten a second wind with being creative this year. I am excited to tell you about my new treasure in writing. It is a newfound website (that I found in a column in Oprah's Nov 2011 magazine) called 750Words.com. This site follows the steps of Julia Cameron's The Artists Way. It helps you work towards a better writing style. It encourages you to write 750 words a day. This is approximately 3 typewritten pages of words. I am finding it easier to pick a theme (from Patti Digh's LIFE IS A VERB book - Thanks, Patti!) to help create daily themes. Please cheer me on to continue this daily ritual.  Have you started a new routine that you would like to share?

  2. Since I ventured out, and meeting many really wonderful souls, my daily routine is to visit their blogs, support kindness and look for more positive direction in my life. It is far to easy to give up and retreat, for me anyway. Perfect inspiration for today, thank you Kristina as always.......Debix

  7. Dear Kristine- Of course, I would be more than happy to cheer you on as you're writing 750 pages a day - I like the concept of life being a verb. If all we do is wishing and dreaming, and could haves and should haves we'll never pass 'Go'.

Doesn't it feel wonderful when the desire to be creative comes back stronger than ever.
Honestly, I think it's all about desire.

I haven't started any new routines, but I'm the queen of routine !
Everyday I do pretty much the same things : Reading over breakfast, taking care Billy ( my sweet dog ), writing in my journal, working in the art room, lap swimming, dinner with hubster, online, eating and sleeping.

Then there's all the time inbetween when other things take place - family matters being the most important.

    I'm enjoying your blog !
You even ask us questions, which is very nice indeed :-)

  11. Well done Kristine for committing to using 750Words.com!!

I'm a big fan of Morning Pages. As a visual artist, I've found them an invaluable tool to finding my Creative Voice. You will gain much insight into yourself, through their use. They serve as a barometer for my creativity - when I resist writing 3 pages a day, something is not ok in my life/heart/relationships.

It will definitely get easier the longer you use them. The act of writing Morning Pages can become a lifeline to yourself. After years of use, I feel lost without them.

A YEAR IN PHOTO COLLAGES ...

Love Story in Burlington, VT ...

It started the morning I decided to visit Muddy Waters (Coffee House) in Burlington, Vermont. I was told by the locals that if I was looking for a quiet place to write and enjoy a good cup of java, this was the place. I entered into a few different level rooms containing booths, cozy benches and chairs. After ordering an Iced Machiatto, I settled into a nice corner bench adjacent to a bookshelf. It was quiet, the perfect seat to get some reading done. My reason for spending a quiet morning here was to work through a few more chapters in The Artist's Way. (Julia Cameron's ~ Guide to Inspire Artists). Upon looking around, I noticed that there was a small, rolled up piece of paper tucked away in the brick wall behind me. At first, I was not sure whether to take it out and read it, or not. Perhaps I have seen too many "Candid - Punked" like shows, and someone was watching my every move. Pushing these paranoid thoughts aside, I reached over, read it and I was elated
